Sharon Scheuermann


Sharon has worked in the insurance industry for more than 25 years and has specialized in health care for the majority of her career. Sharon has experience working with all types of health care organizations and is one of the most respected and accomplished brokers in the industry.

Sharon is responsible for new business development, account management, program design and implementation and insurer knowledge management.

Prior Experience

Sharon began her career at Lockton in St. Louis where she managed small account business across all industry sectors. She subsequently moved to New York in 1993 where she took a position working on health care business at Johnson & Higgins (J&H). Sharon later held a similar position at Alexander & Alexander, but joined Marsh in 1998 to establish the Health Care Placement Group. Sharon held various positions within the organization before being promoted to Senior Vice President at Marsh where she served as Client Executive and Placement Specialist in the Health Care Practice. She had overall responsibility for the design, negotiation and placement of health care liability programs for institutions such as hospital systems, long-term care facilities, physician groups and miscellaneous health care organizations. Sharon was also accountable for maintaining strong relationships with insurance companies and informing clients and colleagues of changes in market conditions, product offerings and insurer financial ratings.

Education & Involvement

  • Sharon earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Saint Louis University, and she holds a Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
  • She is a licensed Property & Casualty and Surplus Lines insurance broker
  • Sharon is a member of the CPCU Society, The Association for Healthcare Risk Management of New York, Inc. (AHRMNY), and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
