Douglas J. Dalrymple, CLU

With more than 40 years of experience in the insurance industry, Doug’s career was initially focused in Individual Life and Health Insurance, Treasury Management, Corporate Finance and Investment Management. For the last 17 years, Doug has focused on Managed Care Reinsurance for health care organizations and Employer Stop Loss Insurance for self-funded employers.

Prior Experience

Immediately prior to joining Dubraski & Associates, Doug was Vice President of Underwriting for Chubb Health Care, a division of Chubb & Son. In this role Doug was responsible for the initial rollout and management of the Stop Loss products, which included Managed Care Reinsurance (HMO Reinsurance and Provider Excess Insurance) as well as Employer Stop Loss Insurance. Doug developed a very successful team, which enabled Chubb to establish itself as a leader in the Managed Care Stop Loss Industry.

Doug began his career with the Equitable Life Assurance Society (AXA Equitable) as a trainee in the Louisville field office. After completing two years of active duty in the U.S. Army, Doug resumed his career in Equitable’s home office in New York, ultimately achieving the position of Vice President and Assistant Treasurer. Doug assumed a similar position with EQUICOR (a managed care subsidiary of Equitable and HCA) and with CIGNA when that company acquired EQUICOR.

Doug left CIGNA to assume the Treasurer position with Executive Risk, which ultimately merged with Chubb & Son. As Treasurer, Doug participated in the company’s Initial Public Offering as well as several debt and equity offerings. After leaving the Treasury position, Doug managed Chubb’s Stop Loss practice from inception and established Chubb as a leader in that market.
